Hello!

I'm Gianna, and I am the creator of Caregiver Guides, a solo-youth-led website dedicated to helping those who care for others.

My Story

I am currently a high school student passionate about psychology and mental health, and I have witnessed firsthand how challenging it can be to take care of a family member struggling with Alzheimer's, especially when done without any support or training.

My mother was a caregiver who gave everything she had to my grandfather but rarely took time to care for herself. Without the resources, support, or guidance she needed, she carried the weight of caregiving alone. Over time, neglecting her own health took a serious toll, and ultimately, it cost her life. Her experience opened my eyes to how easily caregivers’ needs are overlooked, and how dangerous it can be when those who give care are not cared for themselves.

I know that many caregivers and family members face these same struggles—feeling overwhelmed, unsupported, and unsure of how to balance their loved one’s needs with their own. That is why I created this website: to raise awareness, share resources, and provide an accessible, meaningful space where caregivers can learn to prioritize their own mental and physical well-being while caring for others.

This project is still growing, and I am constantly finding new ways to learn and build this community. I hope this website becomes a helpful resource and provides healing insights for caregiving and mental well-being.
